Allow me to repost, this jesus loving..pot smoking post from the prophecy Board, cause it really doesn't have any references to prophecy but does have connections with our Life beyond Board, concerniong Christians attitudes to pot smoking and maybe there our pot smoking as well.

I would agree w/ you, Lydia, that smoking marijuana for the intent of seeking
God or enlightenment is wrong. However, for an adult, yes even a Christian
adult to smoke a little ganga for relaxation, I believe, is no more harmful to
the body or soul than taking over-the-counter drugs, many of which are more
harmful than our little friend, "Doobie". In fact in many countries (USA
excluded) it IS sold over the counter and does not carry the same stigma as
it does in the good ole USA. Many countries (USA excluded) have opened
their eyes that the danger herein lies not in the "use" of marijuana, but in
the "source" of marijuana. While the source remains in the hands of criminal
elements, then young experimenting minds are lead also to the source of
very harmful drugs, and are forced to align themselves with these criminal
elements....which supports the stand that prohibition is WRONG. Marijuana
in itself is not inherently "evil", no more than is wine. The good book
encourages us to drink a little wine for our health and spiritual nourishment (
a heavy heart....), but it does attempt to teach moderation. So, I would put
it on the same level as drinking wine. However, it is not that big an issue to
me that I would preach on its behalf, as I certainly wouldn't want to stumble
anyone who may have an addictive nature, any more than would I offer wine
to someone who couldn't handle a little alcohol.
