Following is from a different Bulletin Board where a poster says he has deduced that Moses was given the ten Commandments on the Day of Pentecost according to the jewish lunar calendar, and so asked a question and then another poster came forward and I related that to the Anti-christ who will surely bring out His law at the time as well.
So here's the thread..
******************************
In my studies concerning the parallels between Sinai and Acts 2 I have not yet
been able to resolve this issue. In the book of Jubilees, the covenants with Noah
and Abraham are presented as being established on the 15th of the third month.
This is the date of Pentecost according to this book and Qumran. Qumran used
to renew the covenant annually on this date. I've heard that the festivals
commemorate the progress through the desert. And I've heard there are
different rabbinical calanders that would make Pentecost the exact date
celebration of the giving of the Law.
I don't know how true this is or how to evaluate this info. Help!

Shavuot Explained
Shalom,
In Rabbinic Judaism Shavuot is on Sivan 6, which is 50 days counting from the
16th of Aviv, the day after Passover, inclusive. It is the anniversary of the giving
of the Law.
In the ancient calendar the months started with the crescent new moon, so that
Pentecost could fall on Sivan 5,6,or 7 depending on the number of days in the
preceeding two months, e.g. if Aviv and Zif both had 29 days, it would fall on
Sivan 7.
Moses told Pharoah we go a three day journey into the wilderness [of Sinai] to
celebrate a feast. They entered the wilderness on the 1st day of the 3rd month
(Sivan); they journeyed Sivan 1, 2, 3, and then they were told to wash clothes
2 days (Sivan 4, and Sivan 5). Shavuot, then, was on Sivan 6, which was on the
Sabbath, which is when the Law was given to Israel.
Later in History the Saducees (Hasmoneans & Qumranites) introduced the
Jubilees calendar and the Sunday Pentecost; they were followed in this by the
Church, and even the Messianic Judaism has fallen for this error.
A few points: mimacharat does not mean 'morrow,' but 'time following';
HaShabbath in Lev. 23:11 means 'the rest,' and refers to the antecedent in the
context, the first day of unleavened bread.
Lev. 23:15-16 inform us that seven sabbaths were to be counted between
Passover and Shavuot; Matthew 28:1 informs us that the resurrection was on
the 'first of [these] sabbaths,' which vindicates the Pharisees reckoning of
Shavuot.
Maybe if Messianic Judaism would wise up they would stop loosing so many
people to Rabbinic Judaism — which is more correct on this subject.

Josephus,
Very interesting question and very interesting thought that the law was given on
the day of Penetcost.
I mean Jesus gave us the new laws of the heart to pass on His words to others
in his memorable commandment of Go Ye into all the World and preach the
Gospel then. And if Moses got the first set of laws on this date how fitting and
what a tremendous parallel.
But an even more amazing parallel although sad, is that if the Covenant is signed
Not this year but in the future just before RosHanah, then that would mean that
the harvest of the righteous would take place also in the Fall 7 Years later
according to prophecy. And more importantl;y in your scenario, If the Covenat is
signed in the FALL, then the Anti-Christ will come into power in the Spring and
what more appropriate date would he pick to set up his new LAW than at
Penetecost.
He would decry as the false Christ that he is the Christ and that He should be
worshipped and that his worshippers MUST be branded by His MARK. So your
deductions seem to confirm this End-Time schedule of events.
But of course, we would reject the A.C.'s law and his MARK, in favor of the true
Messiah's law of the heart.
IMO
